 *Saving Lives One Dog At A Time*

 *Who We Are:  Pom Haven Rescue is a group of volunteers who provide foster care, vet care, and help with re-homing abandoned, unwanted, abused, and neglected Pomeranians. On occasion we do have requests from shelters and owners to take in other toy breed dogs, Chihuahuas, Shihtzu, Pekingese, Yorkies, Pugs etc. 

Pom Haven rescue is not the type of rescue that only takes dogs and cute pups that require minimal time and care that can be quickly placed for a profit. We take the good, the bad, and the ugly! Our first priority is to ill and aging dogs and dogs and pups next on the kill list. 

Our rescue team does not profit from our rescues we ask for nothing more than vetting costs or a portion of the vetting costs.  We do not get paid for our travel time to pick up a dog or transfer a dog for another rescue. We do not get reimbursed for gas traveling from state to state. We do not get paid for taking dogs several times a month to the vet. We do not get reimbursed for food, medications, flea and heartworm treatments, leashes, collars, beds and everyday care of these dogs.  We do not get reimbursed for pull fees that shelters charge.

 *What We Do: Our volunteers rescue and provide temporary housing for Pomeranians from, puppy mills, shelters, hoarders, breeders, owners, as well as strays and abandoned Pomeranians.

The majority of these rescues would have otherwise been euthanized (put to sleep) if we had not taken them in. 

 We pay for all vetting costs incurred for these rescues until they are re-homed. We provide food, care and safe housing until forever homes can be found.

 Pom Haven Rescue volunteers work to rehabilitate, train, and provide loving care to all rescues  in our care completely on a voluntary basis.

 *Our Goals:

1.To help keep countless numbers of Pomeranians from being abused and euthanized.

2.To educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering your pets.

3.To provide public awareness on the cruelty all breeds are subjected to in puppy mills across the country.

4. To create and maintain amicable relationships with shelters, breeders, and owners  surrendering unwanted Pomeranians.

5. To educate the public on this wonderful breed.

 *What You Can Do To Help: Volunteer in any of the following areas,

1.Provide foster care for one or more of our homeless Pomeranians.

2. Provide transportation from shelters to our foster homes.

3.Take Poms to grooming or veterinary appointments.

4. Donate supplies i.e. dog food, treats, flea medications, crates, beds, leashes, collars, dishes, toys etc. 

5. Make phone calls, process applications, conduct home visits, host meet and greets, distribute fliers.

Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda Dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another dog to sleep in comfort, please donate a Kuranda dog bed.

All of our services are provided strictly on a voluntary basis no monies are to be made. When re-homing our rescues we do ask adopters to cover veterinary expenses.  On ocassion when we do have puppies available we do ask for an adoption donation to cover outstanding expenses for other rescues.  All puppies will be placed with a spay neuter contract.  All records and Veterinarian phone numbers will be provided to adopters when re-homing our rescues.

If you are a Groomer, Veterinarian, Trainer, Behavior Specialist, Trucker or Pilot who would be willing to donate your time and volunteer your services we would sincerely appreciate it. 

Pom Haven Rescue volunteers receive no compensation for transporting, grooming, providing food and care for our rescues

 **Please Note: We are not a shelter that is open to the public! We are a group of volunteers brought together by the love of Pomeranians and other toy breeds. We voluntarily provide care and housing for rescued Pomeranians in our private homes until they are ready to be placed.
