Pom Haven Rescue

1. After you have reviewed our available dogs page please fill out the adoption application.

2. Copy and paste the application to an email or Microsoft Word and send it to the PHR volunteer closest to your geographic location.

3. We will then review your application and check your vet and personal references.

4. If all checks out we will contact you to set up a meet and greet with the dog/dogs you are interested in and schedule a home visit.

5. If the home visit goes well and the dog is responsive to the potential adopters and the new environment we then move forward with the adoption if we don't have other applicants for the same dog.

At times we have several families interested in the same dog and we do try our best to have each family meet the dog. More often than not the dog is the one who picks his new family.

*Reasons you will be turned down for adoption

1.Unsafe or unsanitary conditions in the home or yard

2.The dog is not responsive to you

3.The dog does not get along with existing animals in the home

4.Lieing on your application

5.Unsatisfactory vet or personal references
